GSISH likes to invite you for the upcoming TUM ski-racing event from the „Klinik für Orthopädie und Sportorthopädie“ on February 22nd at the skiing region around Spitzingsee. We plan to participate with our own GSISH team. It’s more a fun event so you don’t have to be an expert to participate.

As the GSISH current Graduate Council (Florian Kohlmayer and Daniel Queirós) has already been in office for one year, it´s time to elect a new GSISH Graduate Council! The GSISH Graduate Council is the voice of GSISH doctoral candidates in academic, administrative and residential matters for the Graduate School of Information Science in Health (GSISH) at the Technische Universität München. The elections are an opportunity for our doctoral candidates to show involvement in their education and the GSISH.
This GSISH Event is obligatory for all GSISH Members!
Please let us know until Wed. Oct. 31st, 2012 at the latest who you want to nominate as candidates (write and e-mail to Florian Kohlmayer florian.kohlmayer(at)tum.de or Daniel Queirós daniel.queiros(at)helmholtz-muenchen.de). Self-nominations are also welcome! We will inform you about the candidates as soon as we received the nominations.

Nuclear Research Reactor Garching
To provide you with some further, important information about our visitation of Garching´s nuclear research reactor, nicknamed Atomei (nuclear egg) please the text below. The FRM II is a modern neutron source of high performance due to its high technical level. It provides a very high unperturbed thermal peak flux in the moderator and ensures short measuring times and allows new applications.
As the safety regulations at the reactor are very strict, please follow the instructions below.

GSISH Stammtisch in October – Let´s compete in the Shamrock Pub Quiz!
If you think you can mix it with the best of the best, and survive 8 gruelling rounds of questioning on every topic imaginable – and at the same time complete some tricky little graphical and/or mathematic problems on the side – join us for the Shamrock Pub Quiz on Thursday, October 20th.
Participation costs 2,-€ a head, teams can be up to 8 people. Cash is paid out between the first 2 teams, the 3rd team gets a bottle of wine.
We are going to meet at 7:30pm in front of the Shamrock Pub – the quiz starts at 8pm.

On Friday, 1st of July 2011, the 2nd TUM DRAGONBOAT RACE -organized by the Alumni Club of the faculty of medicine- took place on the Olympiasee.
Unfortunately the GSISH-Pirate-Team has not won, but we had a lot of fun and proved our team spirit! Thanks to all participants and especially to our photographer Ken Friedl!

2nd TUM Drachenbootrennen - Let´s build up a GSISH Team!
The AlumniClub of the faculty of medicine invites all TUM institutions on Friday, 1st of July 2011 at 4:30 pm to join them for the 2nd dragonboat race on the Olympiasee. We want to build up a GSISH team with 16 people and a drummer! The final will be around 8:15 pm - afterwards there will be a party for all participants.
