Project:
Modeling of X-Ray Phase-Contrast Mammography
Supervisors:
Prof. Dr. Franz Pfeiffer
Prof. Dr. Alois Knoll
Start of PhD-work at GSISH:
June 2012
Project Description:
Based on our pre-clinical and methodological studies of phase-contrast x-ray imaging, we develop concepts for translating phase-contrast radiography and CT to clinical applications. This project focuses on experimental and numerical case studies to evaluate the potential of x-ray phase contrast for a range of potential clinical cases, including specifically mammography, neuroradiology, and oncologic imaging. For this project we strongly collaborate with medical experts at the university hospitals in Munich - the Klinikum rechts der Isar and Klinikum Grosshadern.
